About Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the international airport of Mumbai (Bombay) India and is currently the second biggest airport in India processing more than 25 million passengers every year. The airport has 2 main terminals - Terminal 1 for domestic and Terminal 2 for international flights. A 10-15 minute drive seperates the two on landside.

Terminal 1 is subdivided into 1A and 1B with 1A handling Air India's domestic subsidiaries and Kingfisher, and 1B serving the private domestic carriers. Terminal 2A handles most of the international carriers with Terminal 2C serving Air India and her associated compaies. The airport has two runways.

Chhatrapati Shivaji airport has restaurants and cafés located in all the terminals. The lounge areas include seating and are fully air conditioned.
Medical inspection rooms are also located in the airport in case of an emergency, as well as a special carrier hub if passengers have complaints.

Toilets and washroom facilities are located all around the airport, with easy to read signs showing the directions.

The airport had an on-time arrival record of just 50% in 2008 - one of the world's worst performances.
